Meet the Doctor
Miguel Maqueda DVM
Dr. Maqueda was born in Manhattan, New York. His family moved to Argentina when he was a child. There he studied veterinary medicine at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. During his veterinary student years, Dr. Maqueda was very involved in bovine reproduction and embryo transfer.
Argentina is well known for being a beef production nation and is also known for the horsemanship qualities of their “gauchos”. He worked many summers on a family ranch along side the gauchos.
After graduating from University of Buenos Aires in 1985, Dr. Maqueda decided to come back to the USA and become a practicing licensed veterinarian in this country. He took the E.C.F.V.G program administered by the American Veterinary Medical Association. During that time he gained valuable experience by working as a Veterinary assistant in one of the largest veterinary hospitals in Southern California, the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group and at Marina Veterinary Hospital. He also worked in Northern California at Pets Unlimited in San Francisco and at Alamo Animal Hospital in the Bay Area.
Once he became licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the U.S.A., Dr. Maqueda and his family, along with their pets, moved across the USA to relocate in Orange County, New York. He has worked for many years as a relief Veterinarian in several hospitals in the state of New York until finally opening his own practice here at Bullville Animal Hospital in 2002. |
